Introducing Future Leaders to Opportunities in Water - BE AN INAUGURAL SCHOLAR!!!
The Pennsylvania Water Environment Association (PWEA) is proud to launch a new Workforce Development Program designed to support students and emerging professionals who are passionate about building careers in the water and wastewater industry. This initiative is modeled after WEF’s InFLOW program and aligns with PWEA’s commitment to cultivating a skilled, inclusive, and purpose-driven water workforce.

Program Overview
Selected participants will receive full sponsorship to attend PennTec 2026, PWEA’s annual technical conference to be held on June 15-18, 2026 as PWEA celebrates 100 years of service to the water industry. The PWEA InFLOW program includes:
- Conference Registration
- Lodging and Travel Stipend
- Mentorship from Water Sector Professionals
- One-Year Membership to PWEA and WEF
- Optional Operator Workshop Access
- Networking and Career Development Opportunities
Participants will be matched with mentors who will provide guidance before, during, and after the conference to help them explore career pathways and build professional connections.
Who Should Apply
We welcome applications from students and early-career professionals who:
- Are enrolled in or recently completed a program at a university, technical college, or community college
- Are interested in careers in water, wastewater, or environmental services
- Want to connect with professionals and learn more about the industry
This program is open to individuals from all backgrounds and is focused on expanding access to workforce development opportunities across Pennsylvania.
